The waiting list is often quite far in advance of the litter being born since we are concerned about matching puppies to their future families. Litters are planned and qualified, waiting homes are had well in advance. If you are interested in a puppy, contact us sooner rather than later as we have a waiting list already established.
If you are interested in meeting us and our dogs, just ask! If you know you are interested in a Ridgeback but not at this time, please contact us to be put on our waiting list for our next planned litter.
Since we only have a litter about every two years or so, there is always a list of people who are willing to wait for a healthy, well-bred puppy. We require a visit to our house before the puppies are born if at all possible. This enables the potential Owner to meet the Breeder and the Mother to Be and then decide if a Ridgeback is really what you want. It also helps to cement a 10-12 year relationship between us and you. A Ridgeback will be your best friend and family pet with the right positive training and trust in you.

What goes into our breedings?
We thoroughly test our Ridgebacks before being bred to help eliminate the inheritance of genetic diseases. We require that any dog who is considered for breeding [after completing their AKC Championship] have their OFA’s done: Hips, Elbows, Thyroid and CERF [test for eyes] done with Normal/Passing results. Health testing results can be verified on OFA. We are additionally testing each of our dogs for Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) and Early Onset Adult Deafness (EOAD). We may also screen our dogs for Inherited Ventricular Arrhythmia (IVA). In addition to structural soundness and temerament, we carefully make breeding decisions based on all health testing results including DM, EOAD and IVA.
OFA tests for Shoulders (degenerative joint diseases), Cardiac and Patella may also be screened in efforts to have the best chance at producing healthy, sound puppies.
